Other Funerals
The funeral of ex-Chief of Police Samuel Dodd took place from his late residence, No. 348 Warren avenue, this afternoon. Services were held at the First M. E. church, Sixth and Stevens streets, Rev. Dr. Handley, pastor of the church, spoke in a very feeling manner of the many good qualities of the deceased, not only as a Christian gentleman, but as a patriotic and respected citizen.
Many friends of the departed one were present at the funeral services as well as Welcome Cicle, No. 3, B. U. (H. F.); the Grand and Supreme lodges of the order, and Lodge No. 4, A. O. U. W. A number of members of the Police Department who served under former Chief Dodd, were also in attendance. Interment took place at Harleigh cemetery.
