A Widow on Trial for Arson

Margaret Hopkins, a widow, was tried yesterday before Judge Hare, of Philadelphia, on a bill charging her with arson in setting fire to her dwelling, No. 2840 Kensington avenue, with intent to defraud an insurance company of $600. The defendant denied that she was the person who had fired the premises. A sealed verdict will be returned by the jury to-day. The woman was found wandering about this city and Officer Meyers took her to the Homeopathic Hospital where she was placed under arrest.
