Order Inquest in
Washburn Tragedy
---
Bodies of Mrs. Froseth and Four
Children Will be Taken to
Minnesota for Burial

Washburn, Wis. – (U.P.) – The bodies of Mrs. Edith Froseth and her four children, Neal, 12, George Jr. and Adelaide, twins, 9, and James, 6, will be removed to Stillwater, Minn., for burial. Mrs. Froseth and her children were murdered with a hammer Monday night by George Froseth, the husband and father. Froseth committed suicide after wiping out his family by slashing his throat with a razor.

Coroner Edwin Bratley ordered an inquest into the deaths today. The purpose of the investigation, according to Dist. Atty. John Bernard, will be to determine whether Mrs. Froseth or her husband died first. If the mother preceded her husband in death, Froseth’s estate will go to his brother, John, clerk of Bayfield county court. If Froseth died first, Bernard said the estate would revert to Mrs. Froseth’s relatives.
