COLUMBUS, O., May 13. – At today’s meeting of the board of penitentiary managers five more guards were named, making twenty-nine in all who have been appointed. Calvin Massey of Lawrence county, who has been placed in charge of the penitentiary restaurant by Warden Jones to determine if it can be made a paying institution, reported that in ten days he has made a profit of $123 from the tables. The restaurant was reported to have made $73 during all of last year. Massey has not yet been given the management of the restaurant permanently.

Among the men paroled are Edward Rothfuss, Lorain county, four and one half years for felonious assault, received April, 1907; William Mulder, Cuyahoga county, three years for felonious assault, received February, 1908; John A. Kleis, Cuyahoga county, four years for manslaughter, received January, 1908.
