DEMANDS PUNISHMENT ----- Widow Says She Hopes Slayer of Husband Will Get Law's Full Extent
“I’ve changed my mind,” says Mrs. Charles A. Breitweiser, 1226 E. 113th-st., whose young husband died in a hospital a few days after he was struck on the head with a billiard cue in the hands of John Kleis during a saloon row two months ago. “I want Kleis punished to the fullest extent of the law. At first, I felt that I should forgive him for the sake of his wife, who surrendered him to the police, and for the sake of his little girl. But I think differently now. His blow killed the best man that ever lived; he should suffer for it. Of course, my heart goes out to his poor wife, but is she worse off than my baby and I?”
